The Novus Field Logger FL is a high-quality and highly versatile microprocessor-based data acquisition tool for virtually all process variables. The DIN-rail mounting unit features up to eight universal inputs, each capable of direct connection to industrial standard sensors, and accurately records the measurements in 128k of non-volatile memory.

Configuration and data retrieval is effected through a PC using the FieldChart configuration utility software (included and downloadable below). Logging can be achieved using power from the on-board battery (an external power supply is required to use the communications), and the logger can operate as a standalone data logger with real-time clock and graphing capabilities provided by an upgrade to the full FieldChart analysis software.

The free FieldChart configuration software also offers limited download and analysis tools. For online reading and recording (history) the included software also reads and records a graph (for 10 minutes only). Only the first 200 acquisitions get uploaded from the 128k device memory (no loss of data will occur - other readings will be kept safely on the device memory). If you need in-depth analysis of data, upgrade to the full FieldChart analysis software and allow the Field Logger to form a complete data acquisition system.

Note also that if you don't have an RS485 port on your PC, Novus manufacture an easy-to-use USB-RS485/RS422 converter, transforming your ordinary USB port into a fully functional RS485 interface!
